Welcome

On behalf of the scientific committee, we would like to invite you to participate in the 2010 International Conference of Biofabrication ( http://mem.drexel.edu/biofabrication/ ) that will be held in Philadelphia (USA) on the 4th to 6th, of October, 2010.

The objective of this conference is to provide a broad communication venue for multi-disciplinary scientists, researchers and industrial participants to exchange and disseminate recent scientific discoveries, research, development and emerging applications in the field of Biofabrication, and to promote international collaboration, as well as to explore new directions in research on Biofabrication. The conference will highlight, but not limited to:

-     Bioprinting of cells, proteins, and biologics, including inkjet printing, bioplotting, biological laser printing and other novel bioprinting technologies for cells, molecules, biologics, and micro-array and organs;

-     Biofabrication of biological models, tissue models, disease pathogeneses models, drug toxicological and discovery models, and cell/tissue-on-a-chip systems;

-     Biofabrication of advanced tissue scaffolds and tissue engineered substitutes for regenerative medicine;

-     Integrated Bio-micro (Micro-bio) and Bio-nano (Nano-bio) fabrication, bio-additive manufacturing, and the state-of-the-art and future of biomaterials suitable for bioprinting and biofabrication;

-    Design, model, and evaluation of the biofabrication process; computer-aided biofabrication; modeling on biofabricated structures, cell aggregates and tissue ingrowth;

-     Design and fabrication of various drug delivery vehicles;

-     Biofabrication industry, trend and future directions.

We would like to strongly encourage you to submit your abstracts and to attend the conference to share your latest achievements in the fields of biofabrication. Please submit your abstract to BF2010@coe.drexel.edu by July 15, 2010. The selected abstracts will be invited to full-length papers for publishing in Special Issue of Biofabrication (http://iopscience.iop.org/1758-5090) after the conference.

We look forward to seeing you at the conference, and in Philadelphia, a beautiful and historical city in the United States.
